From my readers’ comments, I believe this series helps in many ways, not the least of which is finding new words they never knew existed! And even though I’m a pretty decent wordsmith, there are many of these words I never heard of either; I’m constantly checking an online dictionary to be sure of their meanings.
In today’s edition, there are three words I was not familiar with, even though one — cession — sounded familiar. Oops. Wrong. I had been thinking of cessation (an ending), an entirely different word.
So today I learned about cession, cete, and chare. How about you? Which words surprised you today?
