1-2-1 Coaching
Sometimes busy professionals don’t have a three-hour window to focus on learning some aspect of communication skills during their busy day. For them, though, taking just an hour or two a week on different days means they can get the help they need with any of my programs.
We use Zoom, which means we can see each other. I assign homework, often a writing sample that reflects what they typically write about. I correct it and send it back, and it’s what we cover every time we “meet.”
It could be emails, annual reports, web copy — it doesn’t matter as long as it is something they usually write and struggle with.
We go through my workbooks, looking at each page — usually just two or three pages each time — and seeing what my student knows about the subject in them. A homework assignment might also be one or more quizzes, either the ones in the workbooks or ones I create based on a student’s need to focus on a particular topic.
The three-hour workshops are based on group activities, and we move quickly to cover the material. I have found, though, that working with individuals takes longer, largely because they have the homework assignments that we go over, along with the workbooks. And they always have questions!
If any of this sounds like something you’d like to explore, please let me know. I’d be happy to help!
